Animals are a giant part of my family's and my life. My uncle had a pony and cart I remember riding in before I was in kindergarten. Growing up we had an endless stream of hamster, gerbils, bunnies, dogs, cats and later, when my parents moved out to their farm, goats, horses, a pig and donkey as well as tons of chickens and cows. We even had our share of wild animals, some lived with us, some were just visitors we treasured interacting with.

Thanksgiving Visit
This painting is based on a true event that happened to us one Thanksgiving. My husband grilled a turkey and as we were eating dinner, we could see a hawk sitting in the tree outside of the dining room. one of our guests grabbed a turkey leg off another diner's plate, ran out onto the porch and tossed it onto the walkway. The hawk smoothly swooped down and carried it off. I memorialized the event in this little painting. I also included the loud-mouthed Carolina Wrens. This was the first year they'd built a nest in our mailbox on the front porch.

Mr Smalls Finds A Vase
Mr Smalls was a cat we had until just before the pandemic. He was a very big cat with large yellow eyes. Sometimes all you could see was his big yellow eyes watching you from a sheltered corner.
Not Sorry
My sister's black cat, Ouiji, is a troublemaker, with an attitude.
